The mission of the Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Council is:

To provide professionally trained, competent and ethical firefighters with the proper equipment and facilities, to ensure a fire safe environment for our citizens, and to establish professional standards for the fire service training including consulting, testing, and certification.

The next scheduled meeting of the Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Council (GFSTC) will be Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center (GPSTC) in Bay-A. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9:30 am.

In an effort to allow council members and others additional time to review the proposed rules documents and out of respect for the LODD in Marietta, the March 12th council meeting is cancelled. The next scheduled meeting will be April 9th at 9:30 am.

2012 reported training hours are now listed on individual and department reports. If there are any discrepencies, please email us at gfstc@gpstc.org or call our office at 478-993-4521.

Due to our website security certificate not being renewed until today and some Change of Status forms recently being processed we are extending the open period of the 2012 End of Year report to be open under your account until Tuesday, February 12th, 2013. If you have any training hours not yet reported for any individuals at your department then please submit them by the above date.
